Daily Image 2011 – Day 54
Tuesday, February 22 – as part of my effort to lose weight, I am doing some counselling with a dietition. I had my first consultation with her in the morning. She added some new parameters to what I was already doing. The biggest challenge for me is proper snacking. I lose track of time on my computer and forget to eat. Also, I have a difficult time knowing what to eat for snacks, so she has given me a long list of ideas. Very helpful.
I have already lost 7 pounds since I started with myfitnesspal app on my iPhone in January (a pound a week). The dietition has now giving me more calories each day so I am happy.

I am making another step toward health.
Back in June I made a commitment to start taking better care of myself. Now is phase two: I am entering THE ZONE.
After successfully giving up all sodas and starches and taking my fish oil and green tea, I decided I will try to go one step further and try The Zone diet. I’m not trying to lose weight as much as I am trying to lose fat and develop a healthier lifestyle, one I can be proud of. With obesity worsening and metabolic syndrome so prevalent, I think now is a good time to heighten awareness about what we put in our bodies.
I keep an online journal of every single thing I eat during the day, and I try hard to make sure every meal or snack is a Zone meal. I’ve been doing it for 5 days now, and so far so good. I’m not as hungry as I thought I would be. I’ve also become a cottage cheese and macadamia nut fiend.
